BenQ DC-T800 Digital Camera

BenQ has just announced the successor to their DC-T700 digital camera which it launched at the start of the year. The DC-T800 comes with a 8 megapixel ccd and is thinner than the T700.

The DC-T800 has a 3 inch touch screen and a super-shake free feature, which will give you much better photos than before. It features other stuff like Face Tracking, Photo editing, and you can also take good videos with it.

The camera can record videos at 30 frames per second with 640 x 480 pixels MPEG-4 quality. The camera will soon be released probably expected in the start of October.

JVC GR-DA30US

The JVC GR-DA30US has just been launched and that too for a great price i must add. The JVC GR-DA30US will cost you only $200 and it starts shipping around october/november. This camcorder will be available on Amazon.com then. But if you are too excited to get this fast, then head over to BestBuy.com as they say its available for immediate shipping.

The JVC GR-DA30US also comes with a 30x optical zoom with a 680K, 1/6 inch CCD and 340K effective pixels. This is an update to the JVC GR-DA20 Camcorder - With Sliding LCD.

Hitachi BD70E and BD7HE Bluray Camcorders

The Hitachi BD70E and BD7HE are the latest Blu-ray camcorders announced by Hitachi. The Blu-ray camcorders feature a 5.3 megapixel CMOS sensor with 1920 x 1080 Full HD recording capabilties. The recorded bit will be done on 8cm blu-ray discs which are pretty costly to say the least. Normal DVD discs can also be used if you dont want to use Blu-ray media.

The camcorders record media in MPEG-4/H.264 compression type. In standard quality mode 2 hours can be recorded on the BD70E while 8 hours can be done on the BD7HE.

Sanyo Xacti HD1000

Today Sanyo announced the Xacti HD1000 with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. This is probably the smallest and the lightest full HD digital camcorder out there. The camcorder can write to SDHC memory to a 8GB memory card.

The camcorder comes with a 10x optical zoom, 2.7 inch widescreen LCD display, and HDMI output. The weight of the HD1000 is close to 9.5 ounces.

The Xacti HD1000 costs around $800 and will be available for shipping in september.

Hitachi DZ-HS503 DVD / HDD camcorder

Hitachi has come out with another addition after the Hitach DZ-HS303 and DZ-HS301 versions of their HDD camcorders. The Hitach DZ-HS503 camcorder will come with a 30 GB hard disk and provision for recording on to 8 centimeter DVDs. These will obviously include DVD-RAMs to DVD-RW.

The other specifications of the DZ-HS503 camcorder is the 2.8 megapixel CCD, 10x optical zoom, and a 2.7 inch TFT LCD screen. There is a provision for an extra SD card slot if you want to store medium quality photos.

The Hitachi DZ-HS503 DVD / HDD camcorder will cost close to $1,100 which is a bit over priced but worth it in our opinions.

Hitachi DZ-HS301 and DZ-HS303 DVD-HDD Camcorders

Hitachi has recently announced their new line of camcorders and this time they have gone for something very innovative and potentially the future of camcorders. These camcorders come with DVD support as well as a ‘Hard disk’. This is one of the first time we are seeing a HDD in a camcorder. The other advantage when it comes to this range of camcorders from Hitachi is the long battery life.

The Hitachi DZ-HS301 and DZ-HS303 come with a 2.8 inch screen display for you to get a nice picture of what you are actually saving. The camcorder comes with a pretty big 8GB hard disk which can store over 100 minutes of the highest quality videos. In addition to this memory capacity, you can add a DVD ±RW or DVD-RAM too.

The Hitachi DZ-HS301 has a 1.3 mega pixel CCD with a 15x optical and 800x digital zoom. On the other hand the Hitachi DZ-HS303 comes with a 3.3 mega pixel CCD with 10x optical zoom and 500x digital zoom.

Samsung NV7

The Samsung NV7 digital camera is the new boy in town, it has expanded the NV series also known as the 'New Voyage' with the powerful and effective NV7. It comes with a Schneider lens and a 7x Optical zoom. The Samsung NV7 has a 2.5inch LCD display for you to adjust your photos.

There is although one downside in this camera, in reviews we have seen it has been said that the NV7 gives you very grainy images for dull light and the picture quality isnt that great. On the whole it isnt that bad, with 7.2 mega pixel CCD you know what to expect. The price of the Samsung NV7 digital camera is around $475.

The camera is pretty bulky measuring 106 x 62.3 x 35.7 mm and weighing close to 245 grams. It comes with a Self-timer and a double timer with two continuous moes for taking pictures.

Sony Cybershot DSC-N2

The new kid on the block for the Cybershot series is the Sony Cybershot DSC-N2. The camera comes with a lovely 3 inch LCD touch screen. The DSC-N2 weighs close to 185 grams, not too heavy not too light. The cam measures approximately 97 x 61 x 23mm. The DSC-N2 supports Memory Stick Duo and MS pro too. The shutter speed of the camera is approximately 30-1/2000. There is about 26 mb reserved in the camera for image storing. There is a feature where you can automatically store the best 500 photos in VGA resolution which will fit in about 26 mb and you can keep discarding the old ones or the ones you don't really fancy.

The Sony Cybershot DSC-N2 is going to be sold at a retail price of about $450, which is not bad considering the features and high resolution. Remember you can take photos upto a maximum resolution of 3,468 x 2,736 pixels.

Canon PowerShot SD900

Canon has released a new digital camera in the 'S' series, the Canon Powershot SD900. This is a beautiful 10 megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom. The PowerShot SD900 also has a 2.5inch LCD screen. The shutter speed is relatively slow somewhere between f/2.8 and f/4.9.

You can also take short clips at 30 frames per second at VGA resolution, or with 15 frames per second at 1024 768 resolution. According to the CNET review, you can take the photo as quick as 1.3 seconds from poweron, and a photo every 2.3 seconds after that. If you enable the flash option then it will take a bit more than three seconds which is also not too bad.

The Canon Powershot SD900 will cost you about $480 and is not that expensive. I'd give it a decent 7.5/10.

Pentax Optio S7

Have a look at another sleek beauty of a Digital Camera. Pentax has launched it's new Optio S7 which has a 7Megapixel resolution. Mpeg-4 VGA and Divx video recording, 2.5inch display ,3x Optical zoom. The Pentax S7 also has a 'Blur Reduction mode' which when selected will take capture @ 2304x1729 resolution , which would take upto 4mb of your memory.

The built-in memory is pretty less at 23MB but there's ofcourse a Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) slot which can take cards of more than 2GB.

The camera is for approximately $300 and will be available by september.

Sanyo Xacti CA6

Sanyo has once again come up with a great product in my opinion, a water resistant Digital Camera. The Xacti CA6 is splash proof, and specifically designed for easy one handed point and click shooting.

The CA6 can capture still images at 6Megapixel and can record videos at a much lower VGA resolution. The camera supports an external SD card. I believe this is something you can buy as your second camera, not first. You've just made a plan on the spot and this is what you need with you, so you can capture all the exciting moments and not worry about anything else.

The Xacti CA6 will cost you $400 and you can buy it at Amazon now!
